cheers to the “bruce wayne is not batman” tag on ao3
or alternatively, au where dr wayne moonlights at doc thompkins clinic where he keeps meeting these teen vigilantes….. WHOSE kids are these? who let these INFANTS out to fight crime? anyway he uses his sleeper detective skills to track down the vigilantes and…??? be their dad??
omg wait. the drake estate also has a cave system underneath that tim finds and opens it up as a base of operations and thats where the bat theme came from. i TAKE your batcave and i SHIFT it one plot of land to the left.
so to be clear, i am Not writing this fic but if i DID for civilian bruce AU….
5 times bruce could pretend the gotham bats were not his children + 1 time he couldn’t
i have no idea what is happening but this is the drama level im proposing for finale
theres no way the kids are subtle about it and one wolf in me wants pure crack with totally oblivious bruce, and the other wolf wants bruce who Knows But Is In Denial. or, in classic batdad fashion, has no idea how to broach the topic.
bruce lost in the mental math... hypothetically the manor has enough room for his kids AND the vigilante kids (JUST IN CASE.... HE DOESN'T KNOW THEIR STORIES....) but with all the plus ones (spoilers and stephanies and superboys and what have you) he might have to do some renovations.... should he group them by age? he can't see damian and robin sharing a room but maybe they'll surprise him.... wait, is he crazy, or should he quit his job to help alfred out at home?
Batman and Robin, but its a ‘who stole the cookie’ style picture book.
Based on @sparkypantaloons idea
I love this picture because even 70 years ago, way up in the Arctic in a culture very different than my own, a 17 year old still had the same “Dad, please hurry up and take the damn picture” expression that characterized every picture taken of me from 2001-2007.
Some things are universal
[image description:
first image is a tweet by @JordanKonek saying "my grandmother now 88 and this photo is from when she was 17 years old at her father's igloo."
second image is a black and white photo of the girl. she is posed on the steps inside the igloo. she has a serious look on her face.

Joan Cusack has never appeared in a film that she did not steal.
And as for Debbie, I will always repost my stance on her end.
I’ve said it a million times - if Debbie had listened to what the Addamses were saying in response to her tales of woe, she’s have realized that they understood completely. She had found her people, and was too wrapped up in herself to realize it.
If they could have, they’d have burst from their bonds, hugged the stuffing out of her, bought her a Bentley (and a vintage Ballerina Barbie) and declare her an Addams.
She could spend the rest of her life trying to kill Fester, and he’d love her all the more every time she tried. And the rest would keep offering helpful suggestions. “No point in trying poison, Debbie my dear - he’s been putting strychnine on his cornflakes since was seven”.
I feel like when I say ‘relatable’ what I really mean is ‘resonant.’ I don’t want characters who I feel are like me, I want characters who have emotions so strong I can feel them through the page.
I think this is important because a lot of us forget the power of stories to make us feel things about characters who are not like us, who have experienced things that we never will. The purpose of listening to someone else's story should not necessarily be identification, but understanding.
so embarrassing when i forget im checking someone's blog and i start scrolling through and liking and reblogging shit as if it's just my dash. it feels like wandering into someone else's apartment and not noticing and making myself lunch
reblog if i can wander into your apartment (blog) and make myself lunch (like and reblog as if it's my dash)
